Not everyone is Mensa material.A group of researchers came forward with a study in 2017 that claims that dogs are smarter than cats, and the Internet nearly broke. According to the study, which was published in Frontiers in Neuroanatomy, dogs have twice the number of neurons -- cells that process information -- than cats. "This implies that dogs have more cognitive capabilities than cats," said Suzana Herculano-Houzel, an associate professor of psychology and biological sciences at Vanderbilt University.
Look, evolution happens, the earth is round, and global warming is a reality, but we have serious doubts about the validity of this scientific study. Sure, you can train a dog to sniff out an explosive device, but have you ever watched a pooch chase its own tail... for hours? No matter how many times dogs get stung by bees, they keep going after honey. Have you ever seen a dog stuck in a fence or a blind? It happens more often than you would care to admit. In this slideshow, you'll also see dogs yield their beds to tiny cats, try to bite rainbows, chase bubbles, become confused by glass, and be scared by terrifying things such as flowers, lizards and field mice.
Dogs will always be man's best friend, but his smartest? Don't believe it. We have proof! Get Started
